Indoor Plants for the Forgetful Gardener

thesopranoresize.jpg

Fortunately there are plants available that thrive on neglect. If you have a bad track record with live plants try our top 5 low maintenance indoor plants, they require little maintenance & are almost impossible to kill.

Sansevieria (Snake Plant, Mother in Laws Tongue)

Sansevieria’s have a long lifespan & are an easy care indoor plant. They are very tolerant of low light & require very little water indoors. With its sharp pointy leaves & beautiful colour it is definitely one of my all time favourites.

Pothos (Devils Ivy)

Almost impossible to kill, the Pothos is one of the easiest indoor plants to grow. Pruning will keep the Pothos fuller at the base, easy to propagate - each clipping can be used to create new plants. Pothos do like to dry out between watering's but leaves will wilt and eventually drop if left too long.

Zanzibar Gem (ZZ Plant)

The Zanzibar Gem's roots allow it to store water, making it very tolerant of drought like conditions. The Zanzibar Gem performs best in bright indirect sunlight however will also tolerate low light conditions

Aspidistra (Cast Iron Plant)

The Aspidistra prefers low light making it ideal for use in indoor plant hire. Grown in a clump with sword like pointed leaves.

Dracaena Marginata

Most Dracaena's make excellent indoor plants in particular the Dracaena Marginata. The Marginata grows best in high light conditions & also likes to dry out between watering's. Will also tolerate low light.

Don’t forget that plants are living things and even the most low maintenance plant needs some water & a little attention from time to time.
